Perham Health and Empowering Kids will host an informational workshop about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The focus of this free workshop is to provide parents and caregivers with a “basket” of resources to aid them to more comfortably understand the processes and resources available to support their child that has ADHD and executive function difficulties.
Monday, September 30 | 5:30 – 8:30pm | Perham Health, St. James Conference Room
Topics will include:
– What ADHD is, the signs and symptoms, diagnosis, related disorders, and how ADHD looks as children get older.
– ADHD treatment and supports, the pros and cons of medication, how to get started taking medication and the different kinds (ADHD vs. anxiety), how to get started with occupational therapy and speech services, and how these services help children with ADHD.
– How to start school services, how ADHD is related to IEP qualifications, and what supports are available in school – with or without an IEP.
– A parent’s perspective on her experience in raising a child with ADHD.
